Nests vs Lounges vs Orthopedic: How to Choose the Right PawHaus Bed
We build three distinct ranges because dogs don't all want, or need, the same thing from a bed. Here's how to work out which one is the right fit for yours.
Nests — for dogs who like to burrow and feel enclosed
Raised, cushioned sides that a dog can curl into or rest their head on. Nests suit dogs who circle a few times before lying down, tuck into corners, or generally like to feel a bit enclosed and secure while they sleep. They're also naturally warmer through winter, thanks to the raised bolster and soft fill. Good for anxious or nervous dogs, smaller breeds, and anyone who's noticed their dog prefers curling up over sprawling out.
Lounges — for dogs who like to stretch out
Lower profile, more open, built more like a couch cushion than a nest. Lounges suit dogs who sprawl out flat, roll onto their side or back, or simply prefer more space to move around on. They tend to suit larger and giant breeds especially well, and fit more naturally into a living room as a piece of furniture rather than reading as "a dog bed".
Orthopedic — for support first, comfort second
Built around denser support cores rather than soft fill, designed to cushion joints and distribute weight evenly. This is the range we'd point you to first if your dog is a senior, has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia, arthritis or degenerative myelopathy, is a large or giant breed carrying more weight through their joints, or is recovering from surgery like a TPLO. Comfort still matters, but the priority here is genuine joint support.
