The Armchair

Loved by Australian dogs

A high wrap-around back and two soft arms, cradling them on every side. Small enough to tuck beside your chair, snug enough that they settle in it the moment it lands. In grey or deep teal.

Why it works

Built for the dog who likes to be held

A tub back on three sides. Nervous and small-breed dogs settle faster when something is touching them.

A back and two arms

The tub shape wraps three sides. Small dogs press into a corner to sleep — this gives them one on every side but the front.

Off the floor on timber legs

Four solid legs lift it clear of cold tile and draughts, and air moves underneath so nothing goes musty against the base.

Small enough to belong in the room

63 cm wide. It sits beside an armchair without taking a corner of the living room, which is why people keep it out rather than in the laundry.

The cover comes off and washes

Removable velvet cover, machine washable. On a chair a small dog gets in and out of all day, that matters more than it sounds.

Why the high back matters

Anxious dogs sleep curled with their spine against something. A flat bed leaves their back exposed; this one puts a padded wall on three sides, so they can lean rather than brace. It is the same instinct that sends them behind your knees on the sofa.

Sizing

Measured two ways

Size guide
Blue 63 × 43 × 38 cm · seat 46 × 37 cm · $149.99 Toy & small breeds · up to 8 kg
Grey 63 × 43 × 38 cm · seat 46 × 37 cm · $149.99 Toy & small breeds · up to 8 kg

The seat is the number that matters — that is the bit they lie on. Measure your dog curled up, not stretched out, and compare to 46 x 37 cm. If they are longer than that curled, The Cocoon Lounge starts at 58 cm.

Questions we actually get

How big a dog will actually fit?

The seat is 46 × 37 cm, so this suits a toy or small breed — up to around 8 kg curled. The frame itself is rated far higher, but the seat is the number that matters. If your dog is bigger than that when curled, The Cocoon Lounge starts at 58 cm and goes to 70 cm.

Does it need assembling?

Only the four timber legs, which screw in by hand. It takes a couple of minutes and no tools.

Will an anxious dog use it?

That is what the tub back is for. Dogs that circle and press into corners tend to settle in this faster than a flat bed, because there is something against their spine on three sides.

Can I wash it?

Yes. The cover is removable and machine washable. The timber legs and frame wipe down with a damp cloth.
