How is this different from The Grand?
They're built to the same footprint and the same egg-crate foam — the difference is the surface. This one is plush velvet, which is warmer underfoot and softer to the touch. The Grand is a linen-look weave, which is cooler and more textural. Pick on how you want it to feel and look in the room, because the support underneath is the same.
Which size do I need?
Measure your dog stretched out on their side, nose to tail, and add about 15 cm so they aren't hanging off the edge. Dogs who sprawl need the length; dogs who curl can drop a size. The dimensions listed are the outside of the bed — the bolster takes a little off the sleeping area.
It arrived flat — is that normal?
Yes. The foam is compressed for shipping and takes 24 to 48 hours to fully expand and firm up. Unzip it, lay it flat somewhere warm, and leave it. Judge it after two days, not on day one.
How do I wash it?
The cover unzips completely and goes in the machine on a cold gentle cycle. Air dry rather than tumble. The foam core doesn't go in the wash — spot clean it if you need to, and the waterproof membrane means most spills never reach it.
Is it firm or soft?
Firm underneath, soft on top. The egg-crate foam is profiled rather than a flat slab, so it gives where weight sits and holds up everywhere else. Heavier dogs won't bottom out on it, and lighter dogs still sink in enough to feel it.
